Some FAQs about the Musical Bumps Franchise

What is the background of a typical Musical Bumps teacher?

There is no typical Musical Bumps teacher! We will consider applications from anyone with an interest or background in music or education.

All our teachers love working with babies, young children and families. Musical Bumps teachers are energetic, confident and self-motivated. Many of our existing teachers are keen amateur or free-lance musicians who are interested in developing their own musical skills and applying them to working with the very young.

Amongst existing teachers we have a nanny, an actor, a computer programmer, a rock musician, an HR professional, an events coordinator and some teachers!

How many hours would I need to work each week?

This is really up to you: a Musical Bumps business can be run full-time, or organized to fit around your lifestyle and commitments. Some of our teachers have a 20 hour teaching week, but many do much less. We encourage you to put at least three mornings a week into teaching, but there are no hard and fast rules. Some of our teachers have very young families – they fit their work around busy lives. Classes are usually term-time only and can easily be fitted around family commitments or combined with other part-time work.

Do I need to play a musical instrument?

The voice is the first and most important musical instrument! We don’t require teachers to have other instrumental skills.

Do I need any teaching experience?

No. We provide comprehensive training for all our teachers.

Can I employ other staff?

Yes! Musical Bumps Ltd will need to approve any potential teachers and require all teaching staff to attend regular training sessions.

Can I work in schools and nurseries?

Yes - we have a successful and proven scheme of work to deliver Foundation Stage music in schools and nurseries.

How much can I earn?

This is really up to you! We will support you in all your endeavours and help you to make excellent returns for your hard work! There is potential to make a good living from Musical Bumps.

My question isn't in your list!
